Dream Beach Vacation in Santa Monica

July 24, 2009

Dreaming of a beach vacation this summer?  Are you imagining yourself lazing under the heat of the sun, getting the natural tan while sipping your favorite drink?  Well, hanging out in the beach is always my best past time.  I am so lucky that I am just living few miles away from the beach where I may soak in the salt water and sun to all my heart content.

With all the convenience of having a local beach, I am still dreaming of being in Santa Monica Beach in California.  Basking in the heat of the sun and enjoying all the comfort and luxury of Santa Monica Beach Hotel amenities can offer.  Watching the sun rises at the day break and watch it fade slowly in the horizon at the dusk is such a pleasure that would worth every penny you spent for the vacation at Beach Hotel Santa Monica.

Taking time out from work and getting yourself a little to recharge your strength and spirit always turn-out to be an effective way to de-stressed.  This is also a good time for some soul-searching and re-assessing of priorities.  Having a good time from time to time is healthy both to our physical and emotional well-being.  And the beaches at Santa Monica in California are good place to have your much needed time-out.

Have fun, enjoy life!

Tips in Buying Strollers

Taking your baby in the mall or bringing him or her outdoors for some fresh air can be very tiring task if it is done without the aid of a stroller.  There are several types of stroller you could choose.  There are strollers suited for trekking rough terrains.  These strollers have extra-large wheels and strong light frames.  There are also jogging strollers which comes with a hand brake for speed control, especially good if you’re running downhill.

Here are simple tips in buying stroller for your little ones:

  1. Don’t Buy Second Hand.  They might be cheap but they also might be not safe.  Nothing is more valuable than assuring the safety of your baby.  Buying second hand strollers are not advisable because over the years, some of these second hand strollers are problematic.  They had undergone the wear and tear from their previous owners.
  2. Look for the ASTM International sticker.  Strollers that meet minimum requirements of the ASTM International have a special sticker from the Juvenile Products Manufacturer Association.  ASTM International is a voluntary standards-setting group.  They perform precautionary tests such as brake test, leg openings and locking mechanism that prevent accidental folding, among other things.
  3. Check restraints.  Buy a stroller with a five-point harness, which keeps a baby from slipping out.  Look for buckles that are easy for you to operate but difficult for the small hands to unfasten.
  4. Test the brakes.  Make sure that the strollers you buy have good parking brake especially if you are buying tandem strollers because they carry a double amount of weight than the usual stroller.  If you are buying jogging stroller look for the additional bike-like (hand-operated) brakes that would help you slow down when you’re cruising at speed or going downhill.
  5. Brighten up and accessorize.  Get a stroller with reflector or reflective trim on the fabric.  If your stroller doesn’t have one, accessorize it with one that resembles to it so you can be seen especially when it’s cloudy.
