Keyless lock or what is commonly called biometric locks is becoming popular among home-owners these days. One of the main reasons for that is because it utilizes high technologies that could somehow give the home owners the assurance that their properties are safe. Keyless lock, these are technologies made popular by James Bond and other high tech detective movies. It uses the finger print identification as the primary locking method.
There are questions being raised regarding the use of this technology. Are they really more secure than the traditional keys and locks? Would you feel more secure knowing that the only means of opening your locks is, literally, in your fingertips? Or would you feel more worried because someone might chop off your finger to gain entry to your home?
Based on my experience, biometric operated locks is more efficient than the traditional padlocks and keys. It would be a great solution for those who always misplace their keys because you would never misplace your finger, isn’t it? Keyless lock would also benefit a lot, especially to those who have children who keep losing their keys and adults who already had memory gaps, instead of giving them a house key they would just use their fingertips to gain entry to your home.
Another thing is, keyless lock cannot be copied nor duplicated, unlike the traditional padlock and key which can be easily duplicated. There are many shops that offer key duplication just for a few dollars. One of the best features of keyless locks is that they can be programmed to allow and disallow access during specific time. And lastly, keys can be easily stolen but I haven’t heard a stolen fingerprint, yet.
